Honda will present the fourth specification of its powertrain at the forthcoming race at Spa Francorchamps, which will only be used in Belgium by Alexander Albon and Daniil Kvyat.
With the third update to this year's powertrain, Honda wants to improve both in terms of performance and reliability, and the Japanese manufacturer wants to get closer to Mercedes and Ferrari at the same time.
Honda explained that for strategic reasons, the new powertrain will be used only by Alexander Albon and Daniil Kvyat in Spaj, which will subsequently be penalized with a start-up mark.
Honda will analyze all the data after the race, and the Japanese manufacturer estimates that Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly will also test the updated powertrain for the first time in the Monza race.
