Vettel ahead of Leclerc in his first free practice

Sebastian Vettel [Ferrari] was fastest in the first free training session before the Belgian GP race at the Spa Francorchamps. The German was a good two tenths of a second faster than his team-mate Charles Leclerc and the third was Max Verstappen [Red Bull].

With the softest version of tires, Vettel achieved a time of 1: 27. 550, which was sufficient for the fastest time of the first free training. Charles Leclerc is 0,

seconds, while Max Verstappen's backlog in third was a bad second.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Kimmy Raikkonen, who has a tight muscle. Kimi will debut on FP1, but Marcus Ericsson

is on standby

New Red Bull racer Alexander Albon, followed by both Mercedes racers, took the top three. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton were nearly a second and a half behind the fastest time, but Mercedes did not use the softest tire mix at first training.

Immediately after the start of the free training, Lewis had a gas pedal failure, and as a result the British spent the first part of his free training in the garage.

Seventh place was won by Lance Stroll [Racing Point], who suffered a bizarre accident in the middle of training as his bonnet fell off his car. Top ten was also added by Daniel Ricciardo [Renault], Sergio Perez [Racing Point] and Carlos Sainz [Mclaren].
