Probably a spec2 for fp1/2. They only use the new ones on fp at the GP they introduce them.

Qualy will be Hamilton versus Verstappen by the looks of things. Deg on the Ferraris attrocious, once again.

It was the Lewis and Max show last year too. Max looked to have it in the bag until Lewis pulled out that last minute mega lap. Merc and Ferrari seemed to have swapped plaves, as up until a couple of years ago, this was a serious bogey track for Merc (as in fighting for P4-6 when dominating the rest of the year) and the Ferrari looked good. It was one of their few chances to steal a win from Merc.

On Verstappen’s fast lap he had traffic in S3, so I suppose their real times are quite even.

True, but HAM’s first flyer was a bit messy through sector 1 – lost a couple tenths. And he was able to match his first flyer in his second flyer, suggesting he had more pace in hand.
Either way, we’re still nearly 3 seconds off last year’s pole…
