A confident Australian safely consolidated a top 10 as the fastest Ducati man on Friday at MotorLand Aragon

Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) enjoyed a good opening day at the Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragon. The Australian heads into Saturday as the leading Desmosedici rider after claiming P6 with a 1:48.442, and Miller is really happy with how his weekend has started.

The Pramac Racing rider has tested all his tyres, and would be ready to go racing tomorrow – given the chance!

“Really happy with how the weekend has started out, immediately from the first exit this morning a lot better feeling, more normal, better grip, I was able to go out there and put in consistent runs alone, which was nice,” began the number 43 rider, who – alongside the other Ducati riders – endured a tough time at Misano last weekend. So, to be able to get out of the blocks well in Aragon has undoubtedly given Miller more confidence for the rest of the weekend as he and his Pramac crew focused mainly on race setup.

“We just focused on our race pace, we’ve tried all the tyres now: we tried the hard and the medium this morning and then tried the soft in the afternoon. Had a good run on it, I think 12 laps, quite consistent and, looking at what Marc did on it, it seems it could be the race tyre,” continued Miller.

“We’ll have to wait and see now what the wear predictions are going to be, but happy to be inside that top ten, the weather is meant to be a bit dodgy tomorrow morning, so we’ll wake up and see first of all what the weather is doing and whether we have to go and risk it again tomorrow in FP3.”

MotoGP™ FP2 at MotorLand Aragon: Who will top Day 1? 20/09/2019

As we’ve come to learn, wet weather doesn’t exactly faze Miller, so a wet Saturday shouldn’t be a problem for the MotoGP™ race winner. And, as he currently occupies a top 10 place, a wet FP3 will mean Miller is automatically into Q2. However, Sunday is where it counts and Miller sounds fairly upbeat about his prospects come race day.

“More or less, more or less. We’ve got a few things we need to adjust but we have a pretty good idea of what we need to do in that area. But it should be good.”

Watch Miller potentially rain-dance in FP3 at 09:55 local time (GMT 2) on Saturday morning. Surely, in adverse conditions, the Aussie is in with a great shout of – at least – a front row on Saturday afternoon?
