Lewis Hamilton was second in the pre-race qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, surprised by the speed of a Ferrari that was not considered a favorite on the Marina Bay slow track.
Following yesterday's troubles, Ferrari showed a completely different face on Saturday, with Charles Leclerc winning the pole position for the third time in a row.
Leclerc's speed also surprised Hamilton, who said by qualifications:
I don't know where Ferrari found that much speed. I knew I had to make an extraordinary lap in order to overcome them, and I did my best. I managed a very good lap, but Leclerc was even faster this time. We will see what we can do tomorrow, but Ferrari has shown that it will be very difficult to beat them on this track as well.
