Max Verstappen, who finished third at the Singapore GP, is convinced that Sebastian Vettel owes his first win of the season to the Red Bull team, which triggered boxing stops in Singapore.
Vettel and Verstappen drove the tire change in the same lap, and the German overtook the leading Charles Leclerc thanks to an early stop. Verstappen believes Vettel can thank him and the Red Bull team for the win.
I found myself in a tire problem and decided to make an earlier stop than originally planned. I think it was our intention to find out at Ferrari and Vettla immediately called in the boxes. We made the stop in the same circle and it turned out to be a good decision. Vettel can thank us for the win, otherwise he would definitely stay longer on the track.
