Jochen Hahn clinched an unprecedented sixth FIA European Truck Racing Championship title at Le Mans Bugatti after taking a win and a sixth position in today’s races.

The German once again re-wrote the record books to become the FIA ETRC champion and add 2019 to his previous titles in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018.

The Hahn Racing IVECO ace claimed his latest title in style with a race one victory before sealing the deal in race two to send his team in to wild celebrations after another remarkable achievement.

Andre Kursim soaked up the pressure from Steffi Halm and Adam Lacko to win the second race of the day to make it a day to remember for both German truck racing talent and IVECO.

Two further races at Le Mans Bugatti will take place tomorrow afternoon in front of another huge and appreciative crowd.

Race 1

Jochen Hahn took victory in the first FIA European Truck Racing Championship race at Le Mans Bugatti this afternoon.

The Hahn Racing IVECO driver went a step closer to securing what will be an historic sixth title by taking the 12thwin of his season to date.

Hahn grasped the lead from pole position but had to contend with both a light shower hitting the track at the start and a feisty Sascha Lenz going side-by-side with his countryman for the first three corners.

Hahn though could not be denied and soon built himself an all too familiar gap over Lenz to take a conclusive victory.

SL Trucksport30’s Lenz scored his best non-semi reverse grid race result of the season after showing excellent pace which will make him a potential race win challenger for the remainder of the weekend.

Antonio Albacete rounded out the podium in his Trucksport Lutz Bernau MAN to at least stay in contention in the title hunt but was never able to challenge second placed Lenz.

Race 2

Jochen Hahn clinched an unprecedented sixth FIA European Truck Racing Championship title at Le Mans Bugatti after taking sixth position in race two this afternoon.

This was good enough for the German to re-write the record books to become the FIA ETRC champion and add 2019 to his previous titles in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018.

For Hahn it was a significant achievement and the new champion was ecstatic as he took the cheers of his team and the truck racing fraternity for a remarkable achievement.

Race two was won by Andre Kursim as the Don’t Touch Racing IVECO fended off a race long attack from Steffi Halm’s Team Schwabentruck IVECO and Adam Lacko’s Buggyra Racing Freightliner.

The original start of the race was red flagged after a multiple collision halfway around the first lap after Norbert Kiss was forced on to the grass after some contact with Rene Reinert.

The Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz driver lost control and collided with Reinert who in turn was pushed in to Luis Recuenco’s Trucksport Lutz Bernau MAN.

The resulting debris and fluid on the circuit ensured the red flag was flown and the race re-started as per grid order. All three drivers involved in the incident were not able to take the re-start after suffering significant damage in the incident.
