The Toro Rosso team has applied to Formula One management for a name change, which has to be confirmed by other F1 teams. On a positive note, the second team of Red Bull will be racing under the new name “Alpha Tauri” in the upcoming F1 season.
Alpha Tauri is a fashion brand under the umbrella of Red Bull, and through its Formula One presence, the energy drink giant wants to expand its global profile. On a positive note, a team from Faenza in the F1 season would be called Scuderia Alpha Tauri Honda, and Toro Rosso's name would disappear from the fastest sport of the year 2006 when Red Bull took over the former Minardi team.
The teams will decide on a name change in the coming week and the decision will be made by the next Suzuki race.
