Max Verstappen is convinced that he would put himself in the same car two tenths faster than Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Although Verstappen is convinced that he is the fastest driver in F1, the young Dutchman doubts that with current rules Red Bull can provide him with a car that will allow him to fight for the world title.
Verstappen told De Telegraaf:
I feel like I can go two tenths faster than drivers like Hamilton and Leclerc. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I consider myself the best driver in F1. When I looked at Leclerc’s pole position lap in Singapore, I noticed that a lot of time could be gained. Unfortunately, we currently do not have a car that would allow us to fight both the Ferrari and Mercedes. We have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to join the fight next year.
