The Mercedes team boss was surprised by the Mercedes qualifying defeat by Ferrari in the morning qualifiers, as after Friday's free practice there was no indication that Vettel and Leclerc could endanger Mercedes.

Ferrari added gas in the qualifiers, with Vettel and Leclerc occupying the first start row, while Mercedes racers had to settle for third and fourth place.

The outcome of her qualifications also surprised Mercedes team boss Tot Wolff a bit.

“Ferrari has taken itself out of nowhere. They were nowhere to be found on Friday, but today they were impossible to beat. The power that they can develop in qualifying is truly amazing, while we have problems with one quick lap. Our rhythm in the race itself would be very top, but now we're behind the Ferrari, which is a big advantage. ”
