Red Bull Chief Advisor Dr Helmut Marko regrets that the Max Verstappen race was compromised by the first lap incident. The Red Bull’s alpha and omega are nonetheless pleased, as he believes Red Bull is as fast as Mercedes in the race.
Although they openly announced their assault on the victory before the Honda home race in Japan, the dreams of the Austrian team were shattered in the first corner when Max Verstappen collided with Charles Leclerc.
Marko spoken about Red Bull recent form for German AMuS:
“Obviously, we are lagging behind in qualifications, especially behind Ferrari. In the straights alone, we lost eight tenths in Suzuka. We are just as fast in the race as Mercedes which can inspire us with optimism before the last races.
