The Mercedes team has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will compete in the next two F1 races in Mexico and the US without the help of his long-time racing engineer, Pete Bonnington.

Bonnington, who has been a Hamilton racing engineer since 2013 when the British crossed good enough Mercedes, did not travel to Mexico with the Brackley team, but remained in the UK, where he will be smaller surgery

Bonnington will also be absent from the US Grand Prix race and will be temporarily taken over by one of Hamilton's engineers, Marcus Dudley.

Lewis Hamilton may formally confirm his sixth Formula One World Cup title in Mexico this weekend in case he wins 14 points more than his team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
