The Formula One wagon is moving to the US south, where Austin, Texas, will host the US GP. Tilke's Austin is a modern racetrack, inspired by classic European racing. The American Raceway offers us a replica of the legendary Maggots-Becketts-Chapel section from Silverstone, Istanbul bend no. 8 and Hockenheim Stadium. The extremely versatile route requires a well-balanced car, competitive on both slow acceleration and long planes. Despite the expected monotonous desert weather, we have already experienced a true space dive in Austin. A race that, after the boom in Indianapolis, may be the last chance for a much-desired breakthrough in the fastest sport in the United States.
