Despite Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff convincing Lewis Hamilton to be very pleased with Mercedes, the Austrian does not rule out the possibility of a five-time Formula One World Champion wishing to end his career at Ferrari.
The boss of the silver arrow team points out that Mercedes has a back-up plan in case Hamilton chooses to move to Maranello.
Wolf told Autobild:
“I know Lewis is happy with Mercedes, but I would still understand if he wanted to change over to Ferrari. Although we want to end our remarkable career at Mercedes, we are prepared for all scenarios. If his departure really came, I see no reason why Sebastian Vettel wouldn't be okay. There are six or seven racers on the starting list that you can sit in and be seriously counting on in the fight for a World Title. Sebastian is one of them. “
