Longtime Renault boss Flavio Briatore is convinced that Formula One's Fernando Alonso said goodbye significantly, considering that his longtime protector is the best caravan racer, even better than current world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Alonso announced last year his decision to say goodbye to Formula One after the end of the season, and Briatore believes that the Spaniard in Formula One has not yet achieved everything he can.
In my opinion, he retired too soon as he has a lot to offer and I hope to see him again in F1. In Formula 1, things can change incredibly quickly. I’d rather see him go to a Mercedes or a Ferrari where he could fight for the World Cup title again. At the highest level, he is better than Lewis Hamilton and also more constant. I'm sure he'll be back, but only if he has a good car at his disposal. He is not interested in fighting for points because he wants to win.
