Verstappen: Kubica almost “knocked me out” of the race

Not much was missing, however, and for the second year in a row, Max Verstappen would have prevented the form of winning the race in Brazil by a lagging racer. After Verstappen got involved with Esteban Okon last year, Robert Kubica crossed the young Dutchman this time.

Verstappen and Kubica started at the same stop in the same lap, and Williams mechanics dropped the Poles directly in front of the race leader.

Verstappen hardly avoided the collision, but after the race, the later winner explained his vision of the incident, for which Kubica was fined five seconds.

“I was racing toward Hamilton and knew it would be tight because I had traffic problems. Then suddenly I was confronted by Kubica, who almost pushed me into the wall and “knocked” me out of the race. Because of this, we lost our place, but luckily in another sector Lewis lost time behind Leclerc and I was able to attack him on a plane with full power and an open DRS system. ”
