
Max Verstappen [Red Bull] was fastest in the third free training session before the race for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina. The Dutchman was for the good 74 a thousandth of a second faster than Lewis Hamilton [Mercedes], while Valtteri Bottas was a few thousandth more behind in another Mercedes
Verstappen overtook both Mercedes racers in the simulation of the bad-tenth qualification, leading most of the training, while the other Red Bull driver Alexander Albon came in fourth place with a good three-tenths seconds.

The fifth and sixth places were occupied by both Ferrari racers, who, in turn, put their time on the level of the harder tires. Vettel was just over four tenths on the fifth fastest time, and Leclerc a few thousandth more.
Sergio Perez [Racing Point] took the seventh time of the first free practice and Daniel Ricciardo [Renault] took the eighth.
Carlos Sainz [Mclaren] and Pierre Gasly [Toro Rosso] also completed the top ten.
