FIE Technical Delegate Jo Bauer confirmed that Commissioners were investigating the car of Charles Leclerc just before the start of the Abu Dhabi race for suspected irregularities in the initial fuel quantity.
In examining the Ferrari car, the FIA found a significant discrepancy between the amount of fuel reported before the race at the Ferrari and the actual measured quantity in the Leclerc car.
Bauer, who noted the discrepancies in the regular review of the car, has already referred the matter to the commissioners, who will decide on a possible penalty for the Ferrari racer.
Leclerc would start the lawful race for GP Abu Dhabi from third place.
