Hamilton and challenger Max Verstappen were head to head with each Points came to Abu Dhabi. The performance on the last race weekend, therefore, had to decide who will receive the Motorsport Complete.com Award this year, which is already in our office and just waiting for a handover date.

Finally the readers have (1.6: 2.1) and our expert Marc Surer (1: 2) decided the annual ranking. Because the editors (photo series with individual ratings omitted this time unfortunately for capacity reasons) has given for the performance in Abu Dhabi two “title candidates” Show 1.

Verstappen, Surer finds, although “the engine problems he in the race, intestine had been put away “. But ultimately battle for the season saw Hamilton after all the more constant. On the performance of the Mercedes driver in Abu Dhabi Surer says only: “Pole and won the race confidently – it could not be better!”

Behind the two there was a surprise in the Abu Dhabi grading Third place. Sergio Perez, for Surer “the man of the race” and next to Hamilton the only driver with the expert show 1, secures the third place. Even before Valtteri Bottas and Lando Norris.

Knapp . If only the reader's score counted, Hamilton would have won by the way before Bottas and Verstappen. Perez would only come in fifth

Sebastian Vettel ( the Formula 1 season

Nico Hülkenberg, who appeared in the middle of the fight for the title of driver of the year after two races, celebrated an eighth place finish of his career (provisional?) And scored four more points. He comes in twelfth in the overall standings.

The idea behind our grading is to rate the performances on a weekend and especially in the race (1 = Very intestine, 6 = Not enough). External influences, which the drivers can not control themselves, should be hidden. And so that not only the editors subjectively evaluated, as is the case with Tumble football magazines, we have created a total of three equal pillars with the readers and the expert.

And so we calculate:

From the average rating of the motorsport Complete.com user, the rating by
expert Marc Surer and the grading by our editors we determine the average. This average value results in our driver ranking. We only map one decimal place, but we use all decimal places for the calculation. From these partially invisible decimal places results the order of the ranking of two drivers with supposed grading tie.
