Sebastian Vettel has admitted that after a difficult year 2019, he needs to show more in the coming season, but stresses that his season has not been as bad as it might seem at first glance.
After excellent form in pre-season testing, Ferrari fell far behind Mercedes in the constructors' championship. Vettel, who finished the season at a modest fifth place, also fell behind his team-mate Charles Leclerc in the aggregate.
The German acknowledges that he has to show better form during the 2020 season:
“As an individual, I realize that I need to show more, but I still think that my season has not been as bad as it might seem at first glance. We had some pitch at certain times of the season and so it may have looked worse than it really was. Undoubtedly, these are not the places we want, as our goal is to fight for the title. We need to address some of the mistakes and shortcomings we have this season next year. “
