Racing Point CTO Andrew Green believes F1 racers of the year 2021 will have a lot of work to do with the new generation of cars, as they will modified aerodynamics very unpredictable.
System 1 will enter the year 2021 with a heavily modified technical rule, the main goal of which is to reduce the impact of dirty air on the rear car, which is expected to lead the enact of a larger number of overtakes.
Racing Point Chief Engineer Andy Green points out that the design of the floor-mounted car will cause additional problems for racers.
According to our simulations, the new cars will be very “beastly beasts” that are very unpredictable. Otherwise, the impact of dirty air on the racer's front wing will be reduced, but at the same time we expect the racer to have more problems with the air generated on his front wing. The cars will be so unstable in aerodynamics and I don't think this is the right way to go because we want racers to have enough confidence in the car to attack and race at the limit. We should be left a little more freedom to find other solutions to this self-discipline.
