Renault: Mercedes, Ferrari and Crimson Bull protect the “stupid” rule

Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul thinks the top three F1 teams are blocking the rule that bests 10 Race qualifiers start on used tires.

This rule primarily affects runners who qualify between 7th and 10. to places that start the race in a subordinate position relative to the racers behind them, who are free to pick tires.

Renault is one of those most in deficit because of the rule, and its boss Cyril Abiteboul is calling for a re-qualification.

“The elimination of this stupid rule is blocked by teams that can qualify for the back of the qualifications with a harder version of tires, namely Mercedes, Ferrari and Crimson Bull.
