formula-1-2019:-winners-and-losers

There is another F1 season behind us, where we got a new-old champion, Lewis Hamilton, and Mercedes won the sixth consecutive constructor title. Who are the winners and losers of the F1 season 2019…

WINNERS

MERCEDES IN LEWIS HAMILTON

Mercedes entered the season 2019 in grand style, and the team of current world champions remained all attain races in Austria undefeated. Lewis Hamilton eventually won his sixth world title without much difficulty, coming close to the recently unreachable record of Michael Schumacher.

MAX VERSTAPPEN

This season, Max Verstappen has proven he has matured. The Dutchman has been in excellent form throughout the season, with three victories in the World Cup in third place. Unlike teammates, Verstappen is from Purple Bull RB 12 squeezed practically everything and, despite the worse car, overshadowed both Ferrari racers at the start of the season.

HONDA

Following the agony of recent seasons, the partnership with Purple Bull has also brought about a renaissance with the Japanese Honda, which for the first time since returning to Formula One for a year with Max Verstappen 2015 took the highest step. The Japanese manufacturer has undoubtedly made a major leap forward with this year's powertrain, and Honda has found the right partner in the Purple Bull team for its future in the elite motorsport class.

BRITISH DIRTY YOUTH

A pleasant surprise this season 2019 was prepared by newcomers Lando Norris, Alexander Albon and George Russell, who performed with their performances proved that there was still a bright racing future ahead of them. Albon replaced Pierre Gasly in the middle of the season at Purple Bull, Norris showed with McLarn that he could also fight for the spot in the foreground, and Russell completely overshadowed his teammate Robert Kubica with a poor Williams car. Albon, Norris and Russell have been racing extremely mature for their years, with the UK getting new names to shape the very top of motorsport in the future.

CARLOS SAINZ

During the offseason 2019, Carlos Sainz has proven that he can rightly be considered a racing driver in the future for the World Champion title. Throughout the season, the Spaniard has been “most efficient of the leisure”, with constant form leading Mclaren to fourth in the constructors' rank.

CHARLES LECLERC

In his first season behind the wheel of Ferrari, Charles Leclerc proved that the Maranell team can seriously count on him in the future. Monacan overshadowed his team-mate Sebastian Vettl somewhat unexpectedly, and with the top seven starting positions, Leclerc took the very top of that category.

LOST

FERRARI

Ferrari entered the season as the first favorite after an inspiring form in the winter testing, and the cold shower was experienced by Scuderia in the first race in Australia. This was followed by technical problems, racing mistakes, strategic skirmishes and, last but not least, disputes between racers that once again kept the Maranell team away from fighting for the World Cup title. Ferrari produced a fast car, but it had too many drawbacks to jeopardize Mercedes's dominance.

PIERRE GASLY

After an encouraging season last year with Toro Rosso, Pierre Gasly got a chance to race for Purple Bull, but at the moment he did not make the most of it. While Max Verstappen struggled to win, the young Frenchman was completely lost. He was easily overstayed by his team mate, leaving his seat upright after half a season to Alexander Albon.

ROBERT KUBICA

Robert Kubica also spent the season in the shadow of a teammate. The regiment has made a magnificent return to the elite motorsport class this year, and its return has been anything but successful. Due to poor Williams car, his only comparison is rookie George Russell, who showed much more throughout the season and Kubica lost all qualifying duels in the season 2019.

RENAULT

Renault has entered the season 2019, on the wings of Daniel Ricciard's new reinforcement, with high expectations, but they have shattered already in the opening races. The French team planned to hunt the best before the season, eventually falling behind McLaren, who races with the same powertrains.

WILLIAMS

One of the most successful teams in Formula One history is sinking deeper and deeper. Williams initially missed a significant portion of winter testing due to problems with the car's production, and the Grove team lost four seconds to the lap in the first race. While Formula One linebacker Robert Kubica has returned to miserable form, the only bright spot for the Grove team is young George Russell. Williams has accumulated a single point throughout the season at the expense of disqualifying competitors.
