A six-time Formula One structural champion, the Mercedes AMG team has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ineos team of British cycling and sailing.
The partnership is intended to assist both parties in developing innovation in the fields of engineering, simulations and data analysis.
Ineos is a company owned by Britain's richest Sir Jim Ratcliff, who took over the ownership of the British SKY cycling team this year, as well as working with Mercedes in the Ineos Sailing Division, which is aiming to win the America's Cup.
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said at the conclusion of the partnership:
“As Sir Jim Ratcliffe approached the concept of bringing together three organizations, all with proven experience of excellence and high ambitions for the future, we immediately saw an opportunity to grow and diversify our business . At the same time, we can learn from some of the most successful teams in the world of sports. “
