Former Mercedes team leader Ross Brawn is convinced that Michael Schumacher played a key role in turning the silver arrows into a championship team that won all the World Championship titles in the Formula One hybrid era.
Schumacher raced for Mercedes between 2010 and 2012, and then was replaced by Lewis Hamilton at the wheel of the silver arrow. The then boss of the team, Ross Brawn, is convinced that the seven-time world champion is among the most deserving of Mercedes' successes later.
I've worked with Michael at Ferrari before and I knew his way of working. The guys at Mercedes didn't. Jock Determined was the engineer of Jacques Villeneuve when he and Michael collided, and he could even say that he hated him, but they later worked well together and became close friends. Michael, with his work ethic, professionalism and discipline, has got the team to his side. He has set new standards of work and I believe he has laid the groundwork for Mercedes' later success.
