Honda's Jet Jet Division has helped solve the big problems Honda has with the reliability of its Formula 1 powertrains.

Collaboration between Honda's F1 program and their jet engine development department began following a series of failures of Honda's powertrains that have caused McLaren years 2017 discontinued its partnership with a Japanese manufacturer.

Honda was experiencing vibration issues created by a shaft connecting to the MGU-H unit. Technical regulations F1 allow it to rotate at very high speeds – pause 125. 000 rpm. The vibrations inside the Honda engine caused a series of failures and forced them to severely limit the power of the identical drive unit.

As a result, Honda has leveraged HondaJet's knowledge to tackle similar challenges, as aircraft engines need to operate flawlessly for safety. T HondaJet engineers have helped F1 engineers troubleshoot and Pierre Gasly has been with the engine of the year revised

fourth place pause in Bahrain.

Changes to the powertrain included changing the size and shape of the shafts and bearings to improve their stability at high rotational speeds.
