In the exclusive SPORT1 interview, Flörsch talks about her goals in Formula 3 and describes her conception to start in the premier class in five years.

Sophia Flörsch…

… about her starting position in Formula 3: “I said from the start that I 2020 wants to drive Formula 3. That it worked is shapely. I will go there on every Descend for two years. Then two years of Formula 2 are on the agenda. ”

… about their concept of driving in Formula 1 in five years: “Yes, that's the goal! I want to start there as a trained racing driver. I am therefore looking forward to the next four years in young racing. […] If everything fits, i.e. the success and the sponsors – who are very important in this sport – then I see the opportunities as very great. It is also not clear whether Formula 1 will still be the premier class in five years, it could also be Formula E. ”

… When asked whether Lewis Hamilton is her role model in Formula 1: “Yes, you can say that. It's been like this for three or four years. He is the one I try to learn the most from. Before that Sebastian Vettel struggled when he had his successful time with Red Bull. Otherwise of course also Michael Schumacher and Niki Lauda. ”

… About the goals in her first Formula 3 season: “This year is a learning year for me. I try to improve from race to race. I want to learn a lot, have fun and go on the attack. From the third or fourth race, I would also like to beat my teammates and constantly reduce the distance to the top. ”

… About the first fixed starting position as a woman in Formula 3: “It's nice that it is so, but I want to drive against the boys, beat them and break the records there and not any women's records. It never struggles to be able to say, I struggle the first woman in Formula 3. The true speak is the fight with the best pilots. ”

… About the changeover and the new challenges in Formula 3: “I drove the car in Macau once last year and it's fast. But I still don't know where I am. That will become clear in the next few days. […] The starting field is with 30 driving relatively large. The crew is new to me. I have to get to know everything first. There is a lot of work to do with the engineer, teammates are watching. The tires are very special on the car. It takes experience and kilometers to understand them. In addition, others have tested and I have not. In the coming days and after the first races it will show where the crew and I are. “
