hungaroring:-why-spielberg-is-now-a-pioneer-for-formula-1

(Motorsport-Total.com) – Zsolt Gyulay has Spielberg firmly in view. There is also a good reason for this: As managing director of Hungaroring in Hungary, he is following with great interest how the plans for the Formula 1 start 2020 in Austria . Because Hungary would follow suit only a few weeks later, possibly with an event “blueprint”.

Hungaroring gives hope for a Formula 1 Race with audience zoom Get

Gyulay explained this in conversation with 'Motorsport-Total.com'. He said: “[Auch] we talked to the rights holders about the possibility of a 'ghost race'. The protocol for this is still being developed for Austria. And if it stands, then we Americans will also submit to the corresponding guidelines.”

The Hungaroring is “ready for the Gigantic Prix”, assures Gyulay. “But the problem is not in our control. It depends on the situation in the country [Ungarn]. We are waiting for the measures to be relaxed and for life to return to normal.”

Further negotiations with Formula 1

For the targeted Formula 1 race on August 2nd he is counting on the support of the Hungarian government. “It is very important for them as well as for the Hungaroring to host the Gigantic Prix. That much is certain,” says Gyulay.

He therefore sees two concrete options for his Route. “First of all, a race without fans, similar to Austria. That would mean a high loss for the promoter. Option two is a race with fans, so we 35 Years of experience and last year we set a record audience … “

” Liberty Media knows every topple that we are open to everything, “explains Gyulay. An alternative date for his event has not yet been requested, a “double event” with two Formula 1 races is also not up for debate – so far.

“There is still nothing ready to say, “says Gyulay. “The negotiations are not that far yet, although our route would be suitable for holding two races in a row. And our country would benefit from the tourist and economic perspective if the teams stayed two weeks.” If the Corona measures would allow that.
