ADAC Formula 4 heralds the decisive phase of this sixth season with the first racing weekend abroad. The high-speed school is hosted on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, after the location on the Nürburgring, it is the second track that is also included in the Formula 1 calendar 2020 has its place. Will Jonny Edgar (, Great Britain, Van Amersfoort Racing) defend his lead until the end of the season and the next champion? Or will the pursuers still catch him? With the season races 13 to 15 out of a total of 21 the decision is getting closer and closer. SPORT1 broadcasts the ADAC Formula 4 races on TV, they can be seen online at adac.de/motorsport, the ADAC Formula 4 Facebook page, SPORT1.de and on YouTube.com/ADAC.

Theo Pourchaire is an example of how valuable the ADAC Formula 4 championship title is. The champion of 2019 completed his first season in Formula 3 this year, was runner-up there and is now competing in the last two races of the season for the German team HWA in the formula 2 – and thus in the immediate class under Formula 1, which the drivers of the current ADAC Formula 4 year also dream of. In Formula 2, Pourchaire meets Mick Schumacher, son of Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher and 160 ADAC Formula 4 runner-up, who is about to jump into the premier class stands.

In the championship of ADAC Formula 4 2020 it is tight, Edgar is at the very front with 184 points – but the pursuers, led by Edgar’s team-mate Jak Crawford (, USA) haven’t given up yet. Crawford has 154 counters on the account, Elias Seppänen (16, Finland, US Racing) 152. This trio has set itself apart from the competition, but also rookie Tim Tramnitz (15, Hamburg, US Racing) as fourth with 131 points still has every chance of winning the championship. Things can go fast in motorsport, Edgar knows that – and his pursuers know that too.

Hamburg’s Tramnitz, sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, is also at the top of the rookie ranking. The 15 -year-old, who started his first season in the team of Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar Completed formula racing, has points in the rookie classification 200, his first pursuer and US racing team-mate Oliver Bearman (15, UK) assigns 160 Counter up. “I’m already looking forward to the Red Bull Ring, I’ve been there a few times to test it. It’s really a nice track, ”says Tramnitz.

“Old hand” Joshua Dürksen (16, Berlin, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV), the only driver in the ADAC Formula 4 field who is already 2019, has one more with the Red Bull Ring Unpaid bill. In the previous year he took ninth place and 20 – on top of that he was eliminated once. If the fifth in the overall standings (21 points) still wants to intervene in the race for the championship, a strong weekend is over Paraguayan man’s point of view Duty. For the French team R-ace GP, the hopes rest mainly on Victor Bernier (16, France ), who with 97 counters currently takes sixth place in the championship.

After the races at the Red Bull Ring, things will continue in Zandvoort at the end of the month before the sixth season of the ADAC high-speed school in Oschersleben ends (November 6th to 8th). By then, at the latest, the question of who will win the championship will be answered – and thus secure the best application letter for a successful career in formula racing.
