Sebastian Vettel is going through a difficult period at Ferrari. He has been under increasing pressure since the arrival of Charles Leclerc, and the German is usually much slower this season than his younger teammate. Helmut Marko warns his former protégé that the same could happen to him at Aston Martin.
Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of the season and move to the Aston Martin team, where he will become the new team-mate of Lance Stroll, the son of team owner Lawrence Stroll.
While the Formula 1 world expects Vettel to experience a new beginning at Aston Martin after this year’s difficulties, Helmut Marko calls his former protégé to be careful.
“There is a lot of uncertainty with Sebastian, he makes an unusually large number of mistakes over and over again. No one can deny that, on average, he is two or three tenths behind Leclerc. When I hear that at Racing Point all the updates go to Stroll first I hope they will play fair with Seb. It would be very good for the image of Lance Stroll if he defeats the four-time world champion. ”
