The sixth season of ADAC Formula 4 is entering the final sprint: At the penultimate race weekend at the DEKRA Lausitzring (30. October to 1. November) the thrilling team-internal duel between the two top drivers Jonny Edgar (, England) and Jak Crawford (15, USA) to the next round.

Or can the competition, led by Elias Seppänen (15, Finland, US Racing) break the dominance of the two Van Amersfoort drivers and start a race to catch up? With the races 16 to 18 peaks the fight for the championship continues. A different route variant than at the start of the season is used. This time 4, 570 kilometers are on the program. This new variant is therefore around one kilometer longer than the sprint variant, but also consists of parts of the oval course and the infield.

SPORT1 broadcasts the races of the high-speed school on TV, they can be seen online in the live stream on SPORT1.de, YouTube.com/adac, the Fb page of ADAC Formula 4 and on adac.de/motorsport.

Jonny Edgar, who started the table with 240 Points, would love to build on his results from the opening weekend at the Lausitzring. There the Red Bull Junior won the first two races of the season and also finished seventh. Since that first race, Edgar has been in the lead in the overall standings and shows the trace a remarkable consistency. With the exception of the weekend at the Hockenheimring, he won at least one victory at every event. What also speaks for him are statistics from the past years of ADAC Formula 4. In four of the previous five seasons, the winner of the opening race also won the title. This streak was only broken 2019 when Theo Pourchaire became a master. The first race in Oschersleben was won by the Brazilian Gianluca Petecof.

The past does not matter now – and to congratulate, Edgar’s competition will definitely not come. First and foremost Jak Crawford should be mentioned, who would love to intercept his team-mate. “There are still six races to go – anything can happen,” said the American, who has already proven that he has what it takes to win races: “It should be a good weekend, we’re hoping for a few points.” This also applies to Elias Seppänen, who, alongside Tim Tramnitz (, Hamburg), who is sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, is the most constant driver of US Racing is.

Tramnitz, who has had a strong rookie season, will probably not be in the fight for the championship can intervene more decisively. He has 151 points in the account – and thus 89 fewer than table leader Edgar (240). Crawford (212) and Seppänen (194) are much better off. The duo can still be dangerous to Edgar. If the Englishman makes a mistake, the two pursuers could move very close again in one fell swoop.

In Tim Tramnitz won the rookie title this weekend. In this rating, the 15 -year-old Hamburg with 281 points is clearly on the Top. “I definitely like the Lausitzring. I drove my first Formula 4 race there, the results were also very good there. I really like the track, including the structure. I am confident that the season will relax.” , he said. First pursuer is his teammate Oliver Bearman (, Great Britain, 202 Points), but who has 79 counter less than the leader.

High tension is guaranteed moreover on this weekend, which contrary to the original plan does not take place in Zandvoort. Due to the development of the pandemic in the Netherlands, the race weekend was moved to the DEKRA Lausitzring. The weekend races take place without the participation of spectators according to a hygiene and infection protection concept developed by the ADAC GT Masters and approved by the authorities.

The sixth season of the ADAC high-speed school ends the following weekend with the grand finale in Oschersleben (November 6th to 8th). By then, at the latest, the question of who will win the championship will be answered – and thus secure the best application letter for a successful career in formula racing.
