Lots of slips, great overtaking maneuvers and a clear winner: In the most spectacular race to date of the year has Vladislav Lomko (15, US Racing) defied the difficult conditions at the DEKRA Lausitzring and celebrated his second win of the season in ADAC Formula 4.

The Russian sat against Victor Bernier on a wet track and with repeated drizzling rain (16, France, R-ace GP) and birthday boy Elias Seppänen (17, Finland, US Racing) through. The championship leader Jonny Edgar (16, England, Van Amersfoort Racing) finished seventh and remains on course for the title. He built his lead on teammate Jak Crawford (15, USA), who landed in eighth place behind Edgar, on 30 points. The two other runs of the weekend are on the program on Sunday. SPORT1 broadcasts the races of the high-speed school on TV, they can be seen online in the live stream at SPORT1.de, YouTube.com/adac, the Fb page of ADAC Formula 4 and on adac.de/motorsport.

“The race was pretty tough, there were a lot of unexpected moments. But the race was chilly for me, I don’t think I could have done anything better. I really did enjoyed “, said race winner Lomko:” Tomorrow it should rain and I hope for the same result. “

Polesetter Seppänen, who started with a birthday serenade from his team the track had been welcomed, did not get a good birth up on the wet track and had to hand over the lead to his teammate Tim Tramnitz. The 15- Year old from Hamburg came off perfectly from third place on the grid. Behind it it remained quiet at first, the field lined up. Joshua Dürksen (17, Berlin, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) defended his third place against Lomko. On the second lap, Tramnitz, who at this point had already clearly separated, lost control of his car in turn six and spun. As a result, the ADAC Sport Foundation pilot fell back to seventh place. Seppänen took the lead, closely followed by Dürksen.

The Berliner, who himself only has his 17. Had celebrated his birthday, had no gifts left for Seppänen and one lap later he took the lead with a great maneuver. Shortly afterwards, Seppänen got into turn seven, which posed great challenges for many drivers. The Finn slipped off the track and came back in sixth place ahead of Tramnitz. Behind them, Edgar and Crawford initially drove an unspectacular race before the American also made a small driving error and went off the track.

In the final phase, Dürksen already saw like the sure winner, but the darn seventh corner caught him too. Eight minutes before the end of the race he got into the dirt and fell out of the podium. Shortly before, Lomko had already overtaken Bernier, who was runner-up at the time, so that the Russian took the lead after Dürksen’s ride. Lomko brought them to the finish with a lead of almost five seconds and celebrated his second win of the season. He celebrated his maiden victory at the Nürburgring in difficult conditions.

Dürksen took fourth place ahead of Oliver Bearman (15, England, US Racing) and Kirill Smal (15, Russia, R -ace GP). They were followed by the two Crimson Bull Juniors Edgar and Crawford. Tramnitz came in ninth after another ride. The points were completed by the Israeli Roee Meyuhas (20, R-ace GP).

After the race, Edgar was mainly satisfied with having stayed on the track. “The first laps were really difficult, so many drivers went off the track. I just wanted to stay on the track as intestine as possible. It was really tough,” said Edgar, describing his race. At the season opener in Lausitz in early August, the Brit won two races, both times in dry conditions. Accordingly, Edgar hopes for help from above for the runs on Sunday. “It would be nice if it was dry tomorrow. We were strong here in the dry on the first weekend, but no one has raced in the dry this weekend. That would be pretty interesting,” he said. His starting position could hardly be more difficult. The second race on Sunday morning (01. 30 O’clock) Edgar tackles from the back row. The third run follows at 12.30 Clock.

Elias Seppänen (third, US Racing): “Third place is not the best result. I didn’t have a good birth up, the wheels were spinning and Tim could overtook me. Then he made a mistake, I took the lead and then went off the track myself. As a result, I fell back to sixth place but was able to work my way back to third. I think it would have been better but it was my mistake and the result is okay. “
