Mercedes have announced the signing of a Danish Formula 3 driver Frederik to its junior programme ahead of 2021 season in which the 19-year-old will be driving for ART.
Vesti already raced in the Formula 3 last year with Prema Racing along with Logan Sargeant and Oscar Piastri. the pair has been fighting for the Championship up until the end of the season with latter taking the glory. However, Vesti remained 17,5 points short of the title, finishing 4th, securing three race victories and one podium and pole position on the way.
“I’ve dreamed of being a Mercedes junior and worked so hard for it, for so many years and that motivation has lifted me every single day,” Vesti said. “To now be working with Mercedes, the best team in the world is a massive boost for my career and I am really looking forward to building a powerful relationship in the future.”

Prior to his maiden Formula 3 season, Vesti won Formula Regional Championship in 2019 and finished 2nd in F4 Danish Championship in 2017. Vesti is one of five Mercedes junior drivers, joining Russell, Paul Aron and karting’s Alex Powell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
