Mick Schumacher admits that he is immensely proud of his father Michael Schumacher's great achievements. The son of a seven-time Formula One World Champion, he was determined from a young age that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of a famous father and become a professional racer.
Mick, who signed a contract with Ferrari earlier this year 2019 with Prema Formula 2. The young German racer has no great desire to become part of the Formula One startup once.
“I never wanted to do anything else. People often compare me to my dad, which is not a problem for me. It's nice to be compared to the best, if your dad is even better. I am proud to be the son of the greatest racer of all time. I’m glad he’s the most successful racer in history and that’s why I admire him. Of course, this brings good and bad sides. Because of him, I have great support from all over the world, for which I am very grateful. The club, however, is aware that I have to find my way and that I am constantly learning and making progress. I understandably want to race in Formula One, but at the same time I do not want to overtake things, as there is still a lot to do. ”
