According to the French newspaper Auto Hebdo, Esteban Ocon has signed a two-year contract with the French Renault, replacing Nico Hulkenberg during the season 2020.

Leading French motorsport media reveals that Mercedes is set to extend its contract with Valtteri Bottas, while reserve silver arrow Esteban Ocon will move to Renault to race alongside Daniel Ricciard.

Journalist Jean-Michel Denous reports that Ocon's move to Renault is the result of a deal made by the boss of both men, Toto Wolff and Cyril Abiteboul, to allow the talented French racer to return to Brackley in the future.

Ocon is expected to sign a two-year contract with Renault, while Nico Hulkenberg will have to find a new employer.
