Jochen Hahn and Rene Reinert took a win each on Saturday at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic in the latest duels of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship

The German duo  made it a red letter day for IVECO in their Hahn Racing and Reinert Racing entries respectively.

Hahn further strengthened his grip on the 2019 championship and stretched his lead out to 75 points after a successful days work at the challenging Czech venue.

Reinert completed his second victory of the season after fighting his way through from third on the grid in the second encounter after some typically spectacular action throughout the field.

Race 1

Jochen Hahn, driving the Team Hahn Racing IVECO, led home local hero Adam Lacko who, despite his best efforts, had no answer to Hahn’s pace in race one at Most this afternoon.

The five-time FIA ETRC title-winner scored his ninth triumph of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season to take another step towards what could be an historic sixth title.

Steffi Halm finished third following a tense battle for the final podium spot with Sascha Lenz. The Team Schwabentruck racer was putting pressure on Lenz, who kept her at bay until he suffered a puncture which led to steering damage and retirement for the SL Trucksport30 driver.

As a result, Halm moved up to third and Antonio Albacete (who was sitting fifth for most of the running) claimed fourth for Trucksport Lutz Bernau.

José Rodrigues ended up fifth in his Reboconort Truck Racing Team MAN. The Portuguese racer was initially running behind Norbert Kiss’ Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz and was putting the Hungarian two-time champion under immense pressure. Kiss, together with Anthony Janiec’s Lion Truck Racing entry received a drive-through penalty for contact that occurred at the start.

Race 2

Starting from third on the semi-reverse grid, Rene Reinert had a stellar getaway and only needed a handful of corners to find himself in the lead of the race.

From this point onwards, the Reinert Racing driver had to keep the likes of Antonio Albacete and Adam Lacko at bay with some masterful defensive driving in his IVECO.

By the mid-point stage of the race, the leading trio were joined by Jochen Hahn in what became a four-way battle for victory. Despite a close fight, Reinert kept his rivals at bay to clinch his second win of the 2019 FIA ETRC season after he triumphed in the opening round at Misano in May.

Albacete made a solid start from fifth on the grid and quickly moved up to second place in his Trucksport Lutz Bernau MAN. The Spaniard then went on to attack and defending for equal measure being sandwiched between Reinert and Lacko.

Jochen Hahn, starting from eighth, quickly joined the fray but there were no position changes in the top four until the end of the race.

Sascha Lenz went on to finish fifth, having started from the back following an unfortunate race one retirement. Steffi Halm and José  Rodrigues crossed the line sixth and seventh respectively, with front row starter André Kursim dropping to eighth after a Kursim had a disastrous opening lap.
