Despite the fact that Lewis Hamilton's car was badly damaged after a collision in his third free practice, Mercedes expect that they will be able to repair the British car before qualifying.
Less than half an hour before the end of the third free training session at Spa Francorchamps, Lewis Hamilton is on the curb at the exit 12. bend lost control of the rear of his Mercedes and collapsed violently into a guardrail.
Despite the appearance of a badly damaged Hamilton car after the collision, Mercedes is expected to be able to repair it in time.
After the third free training, the Mercedes team reported:
“We will be replacing the entire front of the car, so we have to replace the nose, suspension and bottom of the car. Unless something unforeseen happens, we are confident that we can succeed in time and Lewis will be ready for the qualifications. ”
