2018 FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup champion Christian Olsen set the pace in the first session of the day at Zandvoort ahead of this weekend’s double header.  

The 22-year-old Dane posted a 1m43.533 lap of the 4.3km Zandvoort circuit in the no1 Martini MK39-Toyota Novamotor, 0.943 seconds ahead of his nearest rival Michael Ringstrom in the no11 Martini MK42-Alfa Romeo Novamotor. 

It was a Martini 1-2-3-4 as Frederic Rouvier set the third fastest time of 1m45.698 and Manfredo Rossi Di Montelera was fourth in 1m47.024, both driving a Martini MK34.

The fastest driver in the Class 1 battle was Davide Leone with a 1m47.345 lap in the no17 March 783, just 0.187s ahead of his father Valerio in the no16 March 783.  They were 5thand 6thfastest overall respectively behind the top 4 Class 2 entries.

Third quickest in Class 1 was the no5 Ralt RT1 of Keith White, the British driver finishing the 25-minute session in 9thoverall with a 1m48.807 lap.

Qualifying for the 2019 FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup will take place at 16h50 this afternoon with the competitors on track for 25 minutes.
