grosjean:-the-only-solution-is-to-return-one-qualifying-round

Team racer Romain Grosjean is convinced that Formula 1 could be avoided by qualifying only by returning a rule that would allow only one qualifying round for each racer.

The rule of one qualifying round was already in place a decade ago, and Formula 1 then introduced the current system of qualifying for relegation.

Grosjean believes that returning one qualifying round would be a good solution.

What happened in Monza could be avoided by returning the rule of one qualifying round, as no racer would have the advantage of leeway. In the current generation of cars, the wind is crucial and we will probably see a similar story in Sochi already. Teams will take advantage of the leeway under the current rules and this cannot be avoided without changing the rules.
