Aragon forecasts predict rain is very likely throughout the day, which could mean we’re in for an extra-exciting qualifying

MotoGP™ doesn’t need added excitement, but the occasional wet weather session or two always adds that little extra spice to a weekend. And on Saturday at the Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragon, it looks like we’re going to get exactly that.

Relive the dying moments of Day 1 at MotorLand Aragon, as fresh rubber went on and the lap times fell

Alcañiz’ Saturday weather forecast – the town just a stone’s throw away from MotorLand Aragon – suggests we could be experiencing wet weather throughout the day, which spells bad news for some of the big names who didn’t earn a top 10 spot on Friday.

Riders such as Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Ducati Team’s Danilo Petrucci and Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) will be praying FP3 will remain dry, so they can have a chance of clambering their way into the top 10 and an automatic Q2 place. However, if the wet weather arrives during the morning session – and stays throughout the day – FP3 becomes vital in finding a good wet weather feeling for qualifying.
