Lewis Hamilton is not overly optimistic about Mercedes' average form on Friday's free practices before the weekend. The British points out that it will be very difficult for Ferrari to overcome the long qualifications in Sochi and hopes for rain qualifications.
Hamilton finished fourth in the second free training session, and was behind Max Verstapp's fastest time by almost a second.
The current World Champion said after Friday's free training:
We have a new challenging weekend ahead because we have a lot of trouble finding the right settings. Ferrari is again extremely fast. I think they only gained almost a second on the plains. According to current forecasts, it is expected to rain tomorrow and I hope that this will really happen, as this will make our chances much better.
