Alexander Wurz, chairman of the racing association, revealed that racers are not impressed with the 18 rims, as the reasons for their introduction are purely commercial.
System 1 will finally introduce 18 the rims in season 2021 that fans have been wanting to see on F1 cars for a long time.
As racing association president Alexander Wurz reveals, the racing enthusiasts are not the least excited about it:
18 Inner wheels are a commercial move that will put even more weight on these race cars. For racers, this will be an additional problem and therefore 18 thumb wheels are not impressed. Contemporary F1 cars are already extremely heavy and, according to racers, this is an unnecessary change.
