Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto is disappointed with the suggestion that the Maranell team could use illicit practices in developing its powertrain.
There is growing suspicion in Formula One caravans that Ferrari has crossed the legal line with this year's powertrain, and competition has already addressed a number of issues with the FIO regarding potential irregularities in Ferrari's powertrain.
Binotto is disappointed by such hints:
“Since 2014, when our backlog was extremely high, we have worked very hard to find solutions. We are now in the lead and the team should be very proud of that. I regret that some accusations have recently been raised regarding our drive unit. At Ferrari, we have never blamed the others for their speed in bends and claim they were cheating. They just did the best job in this area, just like we did with our powertrain this season. As I said, I would be glad to have the production of a formal protest as we could prove how stupid such allegations are. “
