Verstappen fastest in Austin, racers jumping around in humps

Max Verstappen [Red Bull] was the fastest in the first free training before the US GP race at the Austin race track. The Dutchman was faster than Sebastian Vettl [Ferrari] by a good tenth of a second, with Alexander Albon in third in the Purple Bull.

Teams were expecting low temperatures and numerous humps at the Americas in Austin, which many racers had trouble with. On this uneven pavement, both Purple Bull runners were the best, leading most of the training, with Sebastian Vettel in the final between Verstappna and Albona.

At Mercedes, all of the free training was devoted to testing tires for the season 980 and Hamilton and Bottas also did a simulation racing. The silver arrow racers therefore only finished training at 8 and 15.

Pierre Gasly [Toro Rosso] came in the top three with a poor second, Daniel Ricciardo [Renault] was fifth, and Romain Grosjean was sixth. [Haas].

Charles Leclerc [Ferrari] is lawful to spend the first half of his free training due to failure of the gas pedal in the garage, and Monacan eventually puts in the seventh time of introductory training.

Lewis Hamilton [Mercedes] came in eighth place, with Lance Stroll [Racing Point] and Kevin in the top ten Magnussen [Haas].
