Lewis Hamilton also officially confirmed his sixth Formula 1 World Champion title in the US Grand Prix race, with the Briton now in second place in the timeline, with Michael Schumacher second only to the record.
After the race, Hamilton said emotionally that he was proud of all his accomplishments, which he wrote down in Formula One history.
“I am proud that my name is written along with the giants of sport and Formula 1. My father told me as a child that I should never give up. I want to thank everyone who contributed okay to these fantastic successes. Even today, I wanted to win, but my tires didn't hold up in the end.
