(Motorsport-Total.com) – The British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has confirmed media reports that an external investor could buy into the company. As 'Autocar' and 'RaceFans' reported as the result of a joint research , it is said to be Racing Point owner Lawrence Stroll.

Aston Martin confirmed in a stock exchange announcement that one currently evaluating the “financing needs and various financing options”. And that one is “in the early stage” of discussions with “potential strategic investors” who could or may not result in a participation.

Stroll is not explicitly mentioned as a prospect; that would also be highly unusual in the context of a stock exchange announcement. Instead, Aston Martin merely points out that a change will be delivered in due course.

The sports car manufacturer is currently deep in chalk. In the first three quarters 2019 a loss of the equivalent of rapidly 110 Million euros generated. The company's mountain of debt according to 'Guardian' amounts to around 950 million euros.

Should Stroll (possibly together with business partners) actually complete the transaction, he would rename his Formula 1 Personnel Racing Point Aston Martin and in Let “British Racing-Green” go to the Commence.
