Although George Russell spent his premier F1 season due to a poor Williams car at the start of the starting lineup, the young Briton points out that he has beaten both Land Norris and Alexandra Albon in Formula One, racing in the Formula One significantly better cars.
Russell revealed to Motorsport-Week that his peers' good results are all the more gratifying because they only raise the price for him.
“Everyone at Mercedes and Williams knows that I beat Norris and Albon in F2. Basically, I'm going the same route as Charles Leclerc, who also won the title in both F2 and F3. Charles is winning races now, and Lando and Alex are both achieving very good results. When my time comes and I am involved in any negotiations, my achievements against them will serve as a good measure of what I am capable of. ”
