President of the Racing Association Alexander Wurz has revealed that racers are not impressed with the 18 rims, as the reasons for their introduction are purely commercial.
Formulation 1 will finally introduce 18 inch wheels in season 2021 fans have been wanting to see them on F1 cars for a long time.
As Alexander Wurz, the president of the racing association, reveals, the racing enthusiasts are not the least excited about it:
18 Wheel rims are a commercial move that will further burden these race cars. For racers, this will be an additional problem and therefore 18 thumb wheels are not impressed. Contemporary F1 cars are already extremely heavy and, according to racers, this is an unnecessary change.
