F1 Technical Team Leader Pat Symonds is amazed at the fact that it took F1 teams so long to get close to Mercedes, which has been dominating since the start of the Formula One hybrid era.
Mercedes has established complete dominance in Formula One since the start of the hybrid era 2014, and the Silver Arrows team has won six consecutive World Championship titles, drivers as well as constructors.
Former F1 engineer of the Benetton and Renault teams is convinced that after six years of competition, Mercedes has been able to capture it.
“I did not expect the competition to take so many years to unravel the Mercedes secret. Fortunately, that has happened now, and according to Mercedes, Ferrari now has even the most powerful package. It was no surprise that Mercedes had the best engine. The Brixworth plant has a great infrastructure with an incredible number of good people led by Andy Cowell. It was really impressive, but I expect the upcoming season to be much more even. “
