Formula One technical boss and longtime Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn is convinced that the legendary Italian team is in dire need of a win in order to regain their lost confidence recently.
Although Sebastian Vettel finished third in the Hungarian GP race at Hungaroring, Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton was a minute behind.
Braun surprised by such a large backlog:
“The backlog is significantly too big for a team like Ferrari. This track was expected to not fit the Ferrari, however, we all thought they would be a bit closer to Mercedes. Ferrari desperately needs a win to regain self-esteem and morale, which is not the best lately. The summer break has come at the right time for Ferrari and I expect them to be in better shape at Spa and Monza. ”
